Xuzhou Institute of Engineering is located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, an important node city of the national "One Belt One Road", a national historical and cultural city, and the central city of the Huaihai Economic Zone. The school started in 1959 and was approved by the Ministry of Education as a full-time general undergraduate college in 2002.

The school has excellent school-running conditions. The campus covers an area of more than 2,100 acres and the school building area is 743,000 square meters. The disciplines are relatively complete, covering eight major disciplines including science, engineering, agriculture, literature, economics, management, education, and art. There are 19 teaching units and 22,300 full-time students. The school is the implementation of the national “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program”, the pilot university of the national industry-education integration development project, the chairman unit of the China Photovoltaic Engineering Industry-Education Integration Collaborative Innovation Platform, and the executive vice chairman unit of the National Union of New Undergraduate Colleges.

The quality of school education and teaching has been improved.
