Jiangsu University (JSU) มีความเป็นมาตั้งแต่ 1902 ตั้งอยู่ในเมือง Zhenjiang มณฑลเจียงซู ซึ่งมีประวัติศาสตร์ยาวนานกว่า 2,500 ปี ที่เมืองเจิ้นเจียงเองเคยเป็นเหมืองหลวงเก่าของมณฑเจียงซู ทำให้มีสถาบันศึกษาเก่าแก่อยู่หลายแห่ง รวมทั้ง Jiangsu University อีกด้วย ที่ Jiangsu University ได้มีการควบรวมสถาบันอุดมศึกษาหลายแห่งเข้าไว้ในปี 2001 ได้แก่ Zhenjiang Medical College, Zhenjiang Normal School, Nanjing Agricultural Institute. และกลายเป็นหนึ่งในมหาวิทยาลัยที่สนับสนุนด้านการวิจัยระดับชาติ ซึ่งโดดเด่นด้านวิทยาการวิทยาศาสตร์ทั้งหลาย โดยได้รับการการันตีจากรางวัลแข่งขันระดับชาติในด้านการเรียนการสอน รวมทั้งรางวัลการแขงขันด้านเทคโนโลยีและวิทยาศาสตร์หลายปีซ้อนด้วยในส่วนของค่าใช้จ่ายเมื่ออาศัยหรือเรียนในเมืองเจิ้นเจี้ยงจะไม่ค่อยสูงมาก บรรยากาศบ้านเมืองเหมาะกับนักศึกษาไทยที่ต้องการอยู่เมืองที่ไม่ค่อยพลุกพล่าน บรรยากาศดี ไม่ไกลจากเซี่ยงไฮ้
