Chongqing University of Education is a public normal university directed by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission which focuses on ‘foundation education of Chongqing, service for the development of teachers profession’. Established in 1954 and later known as Chongqing University of Education, this school with a long history and unnique teaching concepts is the main training base of teachers and education managements of Chongqing primary and secondary schools. It is also one of the first ‘Chongqing Service Outsourcing Talent Training Bases’.

Located at Nan’an District and Nanshan Mountain, this school runs two campuses, Nanshan Campus and Xuefu Avenue Campus, which covers the area of 620 acres. It has 10 Secondary teaching units which are College of Teacher Education, School of Pre-School Education, College of Continuing Education, School of Literature and Media, School of Foreign languages and Literatures, School of Mathematics and Computer Science, School of Biological and Chemical Engineering, School of Economy and Business Management, School of Tourism and Service Management and School of Fine Arts. Moreover, it has 44 bachelor degrees, which contains education, literature, science, engineering and management.

At present this school has 469 full-time teachers and 10643 full-time students ranging from junior college to college graduate. It was entitled to admit foreign students in 2006 and since then has received many from all over the world.

The school has been on international exchange activities enthusiastically and so far has established intercollegiate cooperation with America, England, Australia, France, Italy, Korea and so on. Besides it has carried out cooperation well with Hongkong, Taiwan and other educational institions.
